Nigeria Launches "Your Ideas Count" Campaign Ahead of 2025 National Youth Day Celebration

The Nigerian government has announced a major, youth-focused initiative designed to amplify young voices as part of the upcoming 2025 National Youth Day and African Youth Day Festival.

The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, confirmed the plans for the festival, which is scheduled to hold from November 27th to 28th, 2025, in Abuja.

This significant announcement underscores the government's recognition of the youthful generation as the "actual drivers" of Nigeria’s and Africa's future. The initiative's core message is clear: "Your ideas count," positioning Nigerian youth not just as beneficiaries, but as vital partners in national development.

The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, is reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive youth empowerment through strategic investments in key sectors. 

Minister Olawande specifically urged leaders from the private sector, development agencies, and civil society to significantly intensify their support for youth-led initiatives. He emphasized the need for a truly Pan-African youth agenda that transcends borders and leverages shared aspirations for prosperity, peace, and unity.
