Diddy Prison Release Date Set for May 2028 Following Conviction

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has set an expected release date of May 8, 2028, for music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, according to online records. This projection follows his recent sentencing to 50 months (just over four years) in federal prison.

Combs, 55, was convicted earlier this month on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, following a high-profile federal trial. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

The release date is subject to change based on factors such as "good conduct time" earned under the First Step Act and the outcome of any pending legal motions. Combs' legal team has already filed a notice of appeal challenging both his conviction and the length of his sentence.

The hip-hop icon is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, while awaiting his official prison assignment. 

His lawyers had requested he be transferred to a low-security federal facility in New Jersey to be closer to family and access drug treatment programs, though the presiding judge declined to make a specific recommendation on location.
