SEAMATA Urges President Tinubu to Grant Prerogative of Mercy for Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The South East Amalgamated Market Traders Association (SEAMATA), a prominent body representing market traders and businesses across the Southeast geopolitical zone, has made an urgent and significant appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

SEAMATA's core message calls upon the President to exercise his prerogative of mercy to secure the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The association emphasized that securing Kanu's release is a critical step towards restoring lasting peace, stability, and economic vitality in the region. Persistent unrest and the often-enforced 'Sit-at-Home' orders have severely hampered commercial activities, directly impacting the livelihoods of millions of traders under the SEAMATA umbrella.

This high-level appeal underscores the deep concern within the Southeast business community regarding the protracted legal and political issues surrounding Kanu's detention.
