Massive Political Shakeup: Gov. Ademola Adeleke Dumps PDP Hours Before Primary Election

In a dramatic political development, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced his immediate resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This bombshell comes with less than 24 hours remaining before the scheduled PDP governorship primary election.

The Governor's decision, confirmed by his spokesperson, is officially attributed to the "current crisis of the national leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)." 

The resignation letter, reportedly dated November 4, 2025, was addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman for Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede, Osun State.

Governor Adeleke, who successfully secured his election as both a Senator and the current Governor of Osun State under the PDP banner, expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the party.

This high-profile defection not only deepens the existing internal crisis within the state chapter of the PDP but also throws a major curveball into the political landscape ahead of the upcoming Osun governorship election, where Adeleke is widely expected to seek a second term.
