Nigerian Muslim Groups Slam US Congressional Visit as 'Selective and Unbalanced'

The national leadership of The Muslim Congress (TMC) and the Ulamah Wing of the Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO) have issued a sharp critique, voicing strong concern over the recent fact-finding mission by a United States congressional delegation to Nigeria.

The groups condemned the visit's approach, labeling it as "unbalanced and selective". TMC and CIO argue that the delegation failed to engage with a broad spectrum of Nigerian society, suggesting a biased focus that does not reflect the complex realities on the ground. 

This selective engagement, they contend, risks resulting in an incomplete or skewed understanding of the nation's critical issues.
