Former President Obasanjo Advocates for International Intervention in Nigeria's Security Crisis

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has issued a powerful declaration, emphasizing that Nigerians should not apologize for actively seeking assistance from the international community to effectively address the nation’s pervasive and persistent insecurity.

In a statement underscoring the severity of the crisis, Obasanjo stressed the profound human cost of the escalating violence, noting that lives are being lost daily across the country. 

He highlighted that the devastating impact of this insecurity is indiscriminate, affecting citizens regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

"We owe no one an apology for seeking assistance from the international community," the former President stated. "The escalating death toll is a stark reality that transcends all sectional divides, demanding a unified, resourceful, and potentially global response to stabilize the nation."
