NARD Suspend Nationwide Strike After Reaching Interim Agreement with FG

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) announced late Saturday night the suspension of its total, indefinite, and comprehensive strike (TICS).

This decision grants a crucial four-week window for continued negotiations and implementation of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 

The suspension follows a series of conciliatory meetings held between the NARD leadership and representatives of the Federal Government.

The NARD's strike suspension is a significant development aimed at restoring full medical services across the nation's public hospitals. The signed MoU outlines the framework for addressing the critical demands raised by the resident doctors. 

The four-week period will serve as a definitive timeline for the government to fulfill the commitments stipulated in the agreement, thereby ensuring the long-term resolution of the issues affecting resident doctors in Nigeria.
