Fuel Security Boost: Dangote Refinery Confirms 50M Litres Daily PMS Capacity to President Tinubu
ABUJA - Following a high-level, closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, provided a critical update on the operational status of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Speaking to State House correspondents, Dangote confirmed that the massive new facility is fully prepared to become the dominant supplier of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for the entire nation.
The company has officially notified the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) of its significant capacity.
The refinery is capable of supplying 50 million litres of PMS daily, a volume that substantially exceeds Nigeria’s current national consumption requirements.
This landmark capacity signals a major shift toward achieving national energy security and could potentially eliminate the country's reliance on imported refined petroleum products.
