Medical Doctor Arrested: Alleged Transport of Medical Supplies to Kidnapping Gangs in Kwara State

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have reportedly arrested a medical doctor in connection with a major security investigation. The doctor is currently being detained for allegedly transporting significant medical supplies from Sokoto State to suspected kidnapping and banditry groups operating within Kwara State.

The arrest highlights a growing concern over the supply chain aiding criminal enterprises.

While the investigation is ongoing, authorities suggest the medical supplies, potentially including trauma kits and pharmaceuticals, were intended for the treatment of injuries sustained by gang members during operations or confrontations with security forces.

The DSS has not yet released the identity of the suspect, pending further investigative proceedings across the two affected states. 

This development underscores the efforts of security agencies to dismantle not only the criminal gangs themselves but also the support network that facilitates their operations.
